NABET-CWA/ABC Negotiations Bulletin 47

 BULLETIN 47

January 11, 2008

The ratification votes cast by secret ballot in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. have been tabulated, and the results show that all the contracts included in the NABET-CWA/ABC Master Agreement have been ratified by their respective memberships.  Pursuant to the terms of the Company's December 7, 2007 proposal, tentatively agreed upon by the Union and unanimously recommended to the membership by the Union's bargaining committee for ratification, NABET-CWA has notified the Company of the outcome of the ratification vote.

Under the terms of the new, now-ratified Agreement, the first wage increase will be effective retroactively back to December 15, 2007.  For most NABET-CWA-represented employees, the increases will be 3.5%, 3%, 3% and 3.5% over the remaining term of the Agreement, with the second and subsequent increases being effective at the beginning of the pay period closest to April 1 in each year.  However, Desk Assistants in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco, and Building Services employees in Los Angeles will receive increases of 4%, 3.5%, 3% and 3%, with the first increase being retroactive to December 15, 2007, and the second and subsequent increases becoming effective at the beginning of the pay period closest to April 1 in each year.  Certain other financial increases (e.g., per diem allowances) will become effective at the time specified in each specific provision of the Agreement.  The new Agreement will expire on March 31, 2011.

As always, your Network Negotiating Committee thanks you for your support and patience throughout the lengthy and difficult collective-bargaining process that produced our new Agreement.
